1. Prepare Your Grill: Place FireForge Cooking Lump Charcoal in the grill, arranging for direct or indirect cooking. If using a chimney, set it on the grill and fill it with charcoal.
2. Open Air Vents: Fully open the grill lid and air vents before lighting.
3. Light the Charcoal: Place newspaper, tumbleweed, or fire starters between the charcoal. For a chimney, position the starter beneath it, leaving 1-2 inches for air flow. Use safety matches or a grill lighter to ignite.
4. Wait for Ash: Once lit, wait about 15-20 minutes for the charcoal to form a layer of gray ash.
5. Adjust Vents: After ash forms, adjust the air vents and grill lid to control temperature and burn rate.
6. Add Charcoal: If using a chimney, remove the grates, add the charcoal to the grill, arrange it, and replace the grates.
Let the charcoal heat the grill for 10-15 minutes.
7. Start Grilling: Prep your food, start grilling, grab a drink and enjoy!

Always follow safety precautions when grilling or barbecuing.

Place grill on a flat surface outdoors, away from the home, deck railings, flammable items, overhangs, and trees.

Use long-handled grilling tools to give plenty of clearance from heat and flames. Do not leave the grill unattended.
After grilling, let the ashes completely cool before disposing in a metal container. Never grill inside houses, garages, campers, tents, or other enclosed structures. NEVER ADD LIGHTER FLUID AFTER THE FIRE HAS STARTED.
NEVER ADD GASOLINE TO LIGHT A FIRE.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS.

For better results and longer duration, store FireForge Cooking Lump Charcoal in a dry area or sealed container.
